Along with our day trip in Bali we were able to stop and have lunch at Kintamani Volcano…talk about having lunch with a view!
Kintamani is a highland area in the north of East Bali and is surrounded by Penelokan, Toya, Bungkah, Batur, Kedisan, Abung, Songan and Kintamani villages (that’s a mouthful)! This area is more widely known as just Kintamani. These villages are about 1,500 meters above sea levels where you can see the active volcano Mount Batur and Lake Batur.
Note: This is a very religious, traditional Balinese area. Our tour guide, along with locals we met on the way, were cautioning us to show the utmost respect to the villages by not walking on their farm lands or entering their temples (unless we wished to pray. Women should also always cover their legs to the knees. Honestly, all the people in this area we met along with way were warm, friendly and eager to talk to us.
