The Cliffs of Moher

Each time I’ve been to the Cliffs of Moher it’s been raining.  And each time it’s still been breath takingly stunning.  The Cliffs of Moher (pronounced Mo-Her not More as I said for the longest time) are an ABSOLUTE must see if you’re in this region of Ireland.  They are Ireland’s most visited natural attraction. Standing 702 feet at their highest point, they stretch for 5 miles along the Atlantic Coast of County Clare in the West of Ireland.  On a clear day it is said you can see the Aran Islands, Galway Bay as well as the Maum Turk mountains in Connemara.  You can read more about the history here, but for those of you who have been following my blog, I’m much more into showing pictures as opposed to repeating information you can find on any old website.

Also, I know I said I wouldn’t go into tooooo much history, but this little fun fact cannot be helped.  The Cliffs of More is where part of my all time favourite movie “Princess Bride” was filmed! See the clip below where the main characters climb the Walls of Insanity!

As you wish 🙂
